Mishpacha means "family" and CJC's mishpacha groups offer opportunities for members to create a smaller "family" within our larger CJC family. Our various Mishpacha Groups provide opportunities for members to connect, bond, learn, and of course, have fun.
We have a variety of Mishpacha Groups - each Group selects activities of interest to its members and meets as often as desired. The planning is informal and led by the members of each group. Our Mishpacha Groups include:
- Families with children younger than 4 - This group brings young families together to create bonds that last for years. Past activities have included outings to a park and indoor playground. Contact Stephanie Shane (Stephanie.firstname.lastname@example.org) or Marcy Quill (email@example.com)
- Families with children age 4 through 5th grade: These groups have planned a wide variety of events, such as potluck dinners, bowling, matzah making, ice skating and meeting for dinner before Friday night services. We have one group for each grade - Contact Karen Russell for 1st and 4th grade groups (KARussell34@verizon.net) and Eileen Singleton for information on other groups (firstname.lastname@example.org).
- Youth Group: organized into two groups, grades 3-5 and grades 6-8. Activities have included going to JumpZone, meeting for dinner, making shaloch manos for Harmony Hall residents, and taking a trip to see the Hanukah House in Baltimore. Contact Phil Rogofsky (email@example.com)
